Paper Submission

The ICOST 2013 Program will be a combination of presentations including scientific papers, posters and technology demonstrations. Prospective authors are invited, in the first instance, to submit papers for oral presentation in any of the areas of interest for this conference. The initial submission for evaluation should be in the form of a 4-8 page paper outline. The papers accepted will be assigned to oral sessions or poster sessions.

Submitted papers will be blindly peer reviewed by at least three members of the International Scientific and Program Committees. Papers will be carefully evaluated based on originality, significance, technical soundness, and clarity of exposition. ICOST 2013 requires that submissions have not been published previously and that papers submitted were not under simultaneous review for any other conference, journal or other form of publication.

Guidelines for Double Blind Submission

Paper submissions must be made anonymous to facilitate double blind review. In order to make double blind reviewing possible:
Names & Affiliations : Authors should take care throughout their paper that their names and affiliations is not revealed.
Referring to unpublished works: While the references should include all published literature relevant to the paper, including previous works of the authors (which may be required for reviewers to understand and evaluate the paper's contribution) should not include unpublished works.
Referring to previous works: When referring to one's own work, use the third person rather than the first person. For example, say "Previously, Smith [7] has shown that...", rather than "In our previous work [7] we have shown that....". Try to avoid including any information in the body of the paper or references that would identify the authors or their institutions.

Such information can be added to the final camera-ready version for publication.
